Professor
Anissa LOUNES – HADJ SAHRAOUI is a professor at Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO) in France. She was born in Algeria in 1967. She received her PhD from the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine in Biotechnology and Food Science at the National School of Agronomy and Food Industries in Nancy (France). In 1998, she was appointed lecturer/researcher at ULCO. In 2006, she supported her entitlement to Lead Research (HDR) and was promoted Professor in 2015. She is the leader of the research team “Interaction plant-fungi and remediation IPCR-UCEIV” since 2018. She conducts research activities on the potential use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in the phytomanagement of polluted soils and in the protection of plants against abiotic (pollution, drought, salinity) and biotic (phytopathogenic fungi of cereals) environmental stresses. She develops new channels for valorising biomass produced on polluted soils (such as essential oil production from aromatic plants) and studies the influence of phytotechnologies on soil risk assessment and refunctionalisation through microbiome characterization. Her works, referred both to fundamental and applied aspects, are led from the laboratory scale to field. Her investigations aims at a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in phytoremediation (phyto/rhizodegradation of organic pollutants, phytostabilisation and phytoextraction of trace elements) and in plant defense by using cytological, biochemical and molecular approaches.
