Wilfried CHEVALIER was born in Sallanches in 1992. He obtained his PhD in Plant Biology and Physiology in 2021 from the University of Angers. He pursued his professional career with a 3-month postdoctoral internship in his previous research team, followed by a 23-month ATER position. Appointed in 2023 as Assistant Professor at the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO), he is particularly involved in the Ecole d’Ingénieur du Littoral Côte d’Opale (EILCO).

A member of the Plant-Fungi Interactions and Remediation team (IPCR), his research project involves studying the adaptation and acclimatisation capacities of plants and micro-organisms. His work focuses more specifically on the influence of trace elements on plant and microbial communities for phytoremediation purposes. As this tripartite interaction can be difficult to grasp, his work will follow a sequential then global approach. Using biostatistical and bioinformatics approaches in particular, the sequential approach will aim to gain a better understanding of the respective effects of pollutants on each of the communities, whether at population level or in terms of the functional profiles of the communities. The study of root exudates will provide an integrative view of the molecular discussion between plants and microbial communities within this tripartite interaction.
